Regional Promotional Groups (RPGs) play an important role in promoting the Welsh breeds and the Welsh Pony and Cob Society by holding shows, events and seminars and supporting classes at shows run by other organisations.
Each RPG is run by a committee of up to seven members of the Society who live in the region and generously volunteer their time and skills. The members of the committee elect a Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary, Publicity Officer and two Safety Officers. They also co-opt other members to assist with the running of the RPG. RPG committees also include a position for a young member to encourage youth involvement. All RPG / sub-committee members must be the nominee of a current full membership.
Sub-committees and Working Parties are also formed as required to run major events and they function like RPG’s. Working Parties work directly on behalf of the Committee of Management (COM) and their Chairperson is a member of the COM.
Members are welcome to be involved with any RPG and sub-committee and attend meetings but can only be a committee member of one RPG or sub-committee. To keep up to date with events and information relevant to their area members can follow their RPG Facebook page.
